New Summer Haircuts

I decided last week that Liam really needed a haircut because the heat was really getting to him, then Chloe said she wanted one too. So Wednesday we went to a place I found nearby and they both got new summer cuts! I really would like to find a kids salon like I took Liam to in NC but this will do for now.

Here is Chloe's BEFORE and AFTER:

Memorial Day Weekend in PA!

Every year for as long as I can remember we have ALWAYS gone to my Aunt Shelley and Uncle Ray's house for a big family picnic. We'd have one for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor day.
I have missed out on mostly all of these events the past 6 summers due to our life in North Carolina, so this year being so close, I couldn't miss it!

We traveled to Pa on Friday! a 3- 3 1/2 hour drive is sooo much nicer than the 8-10 hours we use to travel from the south to PA. I am so thankful that we live so much closer to my family.
We stayed with my dad, spent time with mommom, my sister and nephews, and BFF, and then Sunday we spent the entire day with the whole family! Lots of eating, drinking, swimming, more eating, quates, volleyball and fireworks! My sister, Cassie got her boys a bouncy house so Saturday we spent the afternoon letting the kids go crazy in it and then she brought it to the picnic and they went crazy again! :) I'm so happy that we spent this weekend in PA and that I got to spend so much time catching up with everyone! I really really have missed it!
It was a little bittersweet for me as the day went on, I realized that this was the first summer picnic I've been home for in years and it was also the first picnic since my poppop passed away. It made me miss him even more, and I was so sad knowing that I was finally home and finally able to take part in this and he no longer was with us. Although I am reminded every day that he is always with me, and that night he def was, my uncle found old fireworks that poppop had in a closet and we all watched as they were set off. It reminded me of all the times I've shared with pop over the years and all the fun that we've had together. On Monday, Memorial day, we headed back to NY but not before I stopped at the cemetery to say hi to poppop. It was really nice to see all the flags throughout the cemetery just for Memorial day. I hope you all had a happy and safe holiday and that all remember the true meaning of why we celebrate that day!

Side story: Friday night it was so hot that Liam was having trouble going to sleep. Around 10:30 pm  me, Sean and my dad are sitting downstairs talking and Liam comes walking over to me, teddy bear in hand. He climbed out of hiss pack-n-play, went across the hall found these steps, climbed down and walked to us in the kitchen, all in the dark too! I couldn't believe it! he is getting too big and is too brave! he really has no fear...uhh-ohhh this momma's in trouble lol ;)

wish I had more pics of Saturday but when we got to Tanya's I realized my camera battery needed to be recharged. We celebrated John moving back to PA! YAY!! I'm sooo happy for BFF and John! Liam got his belated bday present while we were there and him and Chloe both love it! It's a mega block dump truck but its ridable, they we're fighting over it, but now that we are home and Chloe has other things to occupy her time with she leaves it alone and just shows Liam how to get on it and ride. Soo cute :)

Daddy and Chloe Date!

Daddy and Chloe had their first date in NY last Thursday! Kung Fu Panda is a fav movie in our house so when Sean heard Kung Fu Panda 2 was coming out he asked what I thought about taking Chloe...I thought it was a great idea but was a tad bit jealous that mommy wasn't coming with and that mommy and daddy weren't having their own date..although that will come soon ;)

Chloe wanted to get all dressed up for their "date" She wore a pretty dressed, asked me to help her pick out her nice shoes, necklace and headband. It was adorable! She even wanted daddy to wear a suit but was ok when he wore a nice blue shirt. lol ;)

Here is the two of them before they left. They had so much fun together! & she can't wait for her next date with daddy :)

My baby is going to Kindergarten!!

It's true! I can't believe it myself that this September, 3 months from now, my little baby girl will be turning 5 and starting kindergarten!!

It feels like it was just yesterday that I was bringing her home from the hospital and now she is growing so fast and will be starting school. Last Wednesday we decided to get her registered so that things would be all set for the fall. We had to go to the High school to register her and she was a little confused when she didn't see little kids. She said, "mom where are all the kids?" I told her the people walking around were kids but that they were high school kids, big kids and she just said "ohhh well I want to see little kids like me so we can play and learn together, I don't want to be around all these big kids!" Sooo funny :)
We got everything taken care and then had to head to the Elementary school to turn in papers. Chloe was sooo happy to finally get to see the school that she's going to attend and see kids her size! She got to meet the school nurse and we got an Kindergarten orientation packet.
She will get something in the mail soon that gives her a date where we go in for testing to see which class she will be in, than later in the summer she will get something letting us know what school bus she will have and who her teacher will be. I am a little nervous about her taking the school bus and she knows it, she says" mom its ok! It's ok mom, I'm going to be just fine!" I know she will be but still she's so little and I worry! lol
The school is really only 3 minutes down the road so I really know that she'll be ok! I'm excited for her to start but I don't think anyone could be as excited as she is :)

Here is a picture that we took at the school! She saw this sign and wanted a picture with it!

Park fun!

The kids love going to the park and I love taking them! I especially like that we now have all this time together as a family, so Sean can come with!! :)

There is a park a few minutes down the road from us and I plan to take the kids ALOT now that the weather is beautiful!!

Here are some pics from our visit the other day!

Chloe wanted to take a picture with this sign. This picnic area at the park is in memory of Tom Wilwerth. He was a good friend of Sean's and was a groomsmen in our wedding, who was KIA in Iraq back in 2005. Chloe doesn't understand much about the deployments that her daddy and other soldiers have been on but does know that when we say someone is in Iraq or Afghanistan that they are far away, fighting for our country. She had alot of questions about the sign and about Memorial day and why soldiers fight for our country. It was a really nice conversation answering her questions about everything :) She is really is so smart and it amazes me the things that she takes away from our talks.
God Bless all those who serve our country!
